FLATPACK TRANSDUCERS
A flat pack transducer, as its name suggests, is a long flat arrangement that utilizes one (or several) thin film sensor(s)-and-lead-assembly (ies) that is/are sandwiched between two relatively thick layers of an armoring material (metal, reinforced plastic Etc.) and connected to an output cable. The main purpose of the armoring is to protect the sensor and minimize its lateral straining. A flat pack is most useful in reconstituted or distended media (sand, dirt, concrete) where shock direction is well known. Therefore, flat packs can made using any type of single (or combination of) thin film stress sensors and numerous construction characteristics. Thickness can vary from 0.10 to 0.500 Inch and their lengths can range from a few inches to 20 Feet. In view of the large number of parameters to be specified for the construction of a flat pack, a part no will be assigned only after its type and physical characteristics are precisely defined by the requester. Please specify the type of application and ask for advice from Dynasens technical staff prior to ordering.
